Foxconn, Apple Inc’s main provider, said it has “essentially” resumed normal operations at its most important branch in the Chinese city of Shenzhen after the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.

The world’s largest electronics maker said on Wednesday it had resumed some production and operations at its Shenzhen campus after arranging some employees to live and work in a bubble, an arrangement requested by the local government as it battles the spread of COVID-19.

In a statement, the company said that, according to a government notice, it “essentially resumed normal business order.”

According to an internal company document reviewed by Reuters, employees in the “high risk” zone in Futian must continue to work from home. Only a small part of Foxconn’s production of Apple’s iPhones in China is conducted in the southern city of Shenzhen, with sources previously reported that the majority occurs in Zhengzhou, in the central province of Henan.
